About the tour

As Hoi An may easily swallow your day, my Private Hoi An tours are a full at least 7 hours long, with two morning alternatives. With around 10 -10.30 am ‘meet & greet’ at your Hoi An or Da Nang hotel and we make frequent comfort breaks to freshen-up.

Option One: In the morning, we will cross the Thu Bon River to Cam Kim Island, where you will experience REAL Viet Nam by seeing Kim Bong Carpentry Village, wooden boat builders, and native homes where families still manufacture rice paper, noodles, and woven mats by hand – you WILL be encouraged to try your hand! In this section of our journey, you will be welcomed as friends by residents who speak no or little English and live a lifestyle that has changed little over the years.

LyLy picked us up at our hotel in a nice car with a driver and transported us to a Vegetable Village first. We then visited the basket boat community. Following a brief halt at the beach to see the Cua Dai beach LyLy was very attentive of the requirements of a family with two little children and was eager to answer any of our inquiries. His extensive knowledge, even on off-topic topics, amazed us. We had a great time on our tour and would highly recommend it.

Option Two: In the morning, we go to Cam Thanh Eco-Village, where you will have a voyage on the famed round-basket boats of Vietnam around the canals of Coconut Village (we provide safety vests for adults and children). We admire the boatsmen’s remarkable basket boat handling performance, and we observe and comprehend how the Vietnamese fishermen fish.

We bid farewell to the ECO Village and make the short trip to our one-of-a-kind Tra Que Organic Herb & Vegetable Village. Farmers in this village utilize neither manure nor artificial fertilizers, but rather a type of algae found only in a lagoon; as a result, the vegetables in their fields are green and lovely in nature, and they have exceptional flavors and tastes. Following that, we visit local farmers working on their smallholdings, where we get a terrific picture opportunity with the ‘Roll Royce of Vietnam’ – our farmer’s water buffalo! On our way back, we have lunch from a fantastic value set meal at the vegetable village restaurant or in Hoi An – your choice.

Both trip choices now return to Hoi An for a walking tour in the afternoon. We see much of the Ancient Town, including Hoi an central market, the Quan Cong and Phuc Kien temples, Tan Ky’s house, where seven generations of the same family have lived, Ceramic museum, and our renowned Japanese Bridge, erected in 1716, as well as a lovely Vietnamese tea establishment managed by Mute and Deaf people. Hoi An is a shopping heaven, with superb tailor and shoe stores; we always assist you negotiate the best offer!

We conclude our Hoi An trip with an evening stroll around the lantern area and night market – Hoi An’s lantern district is not to be missed. You have an evening supper under the lanterns and kaleidoscope of lights before we securely return you to your hotel for 8am, and we provide wonderful restaurant choices!

*In Hoi An, there is a delicious Vietnamese baguette bakery made famous by chef “Anthony Bourdain.” We propose that you visit this restaurant and eat Vietnam’s favorite “Banh My.”
