About Tra Que vegetable village
Three kilometers north of Hoi An’s historic center. Tra Que, the vegetable town, gets its name from the sweet-smelling vegetables. It is known for its clean and safe produce because local farmers only use organic fertilizers to plant their crops. They gather them from the river weeds. It distinguishes and elevates Hoi An’s Cao Lau and Mi Quang noodles. Reservations for the Hoi An Cooking Class at Tra Que Vegetable Village – Half Day excursion can be made. You will be able to practice farming tasks and become a true farmer, as well as learn how to prepare delectable delicacies using local produce. Join us as we compete to see who can become the MASTER CHEF.
“We had a great time cooking a native supper with our other tourists. Our hostess, LyLy, was lovely and knew everyon in village . She made it a fantastic experience. The chef was fantastic, and the meal was delicious!”

Itinerary for the Cooking class tour
Depending on your choice, we will be happy and respectful for your flexible time
First and foremost, our tour guide will meet you at the hotel. We begin the tour by cycling to the central market in Hoi An. We will learn how to select good and fresh ingredients for our cooking lesson here. The market is not only a place where locals sell and buy goods, but it also serves as a focal point for the community. Furthermore, it is a place where they can see and talk with their friends.

We will see a variety of goods, including fruits, souvenirs, and animals. The market is also an excellent place to learn how to bargain.
Following that, we continued cycling to Tra Que, a charming little village in Hoi An. The location where we will learn to cook and compete to become the new local MASTER CHEF.
The locals will give us a special welcome drink in the village. After that, we’ll take a short break before heading to the village with a local farmer to see the various herbs, vegetables, and fruits.
Learning how to do some farm work, wearing farm clothes to do some light work using traditional methods from hundreds of years ago, no electricity here.
Finally, we return to the home of a local farmer. Then we begin the tra que cooking class, where we will learn how to make Tra Que vegetable salad Tam Huu, Vietnamese rice pancakes, and fried spring rolls, fish wrapped banana leaves, mango salad,…. The local master chef will announce the winner at the end of the cooking course. We’ve been eating what we’ve just cooked for lunch lately.
